Anton Becker (politician, 1883)

Anton Becker (born April 19, 1883 in Stossdorf , † April 12, 1965 in Geesthacht ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Life and work

Becker was initially a farm worker and later a lathe operator. He came to Hamburg before 1914. In 1943 he temporarily moved to Düsseldorf , but returned to Northern Germany after the Second World War and settled in Dassendorf .

Political party

Becker initially belonged to the SPD , but later switched to the USPD . With the majority of the USPD, he joined the KPD in 1920 . Since 1925 he belonged to the district headquarters water's edge at the KPD. In October 1926 he became chairman of the unemployment committee for the Wasserkante district and was also the editor of the KPD newspaper Der Arbeitslose . In 1931 he retired from all political offices. After 1945 he was active again for the KPD and ran in vain for the German Bundestag in 1949 .

From 1926 to 1931 Becker belonged to the Hamburg parliament for the KPD .
