Anton Brennsteiner

Anton Brennsteiner (born October 1, 1930 in Piesendorf , Salzburg ; † December 24, 2014 in Mittersill , Salzburg) was an Austrian principal school director and politician ( SPÖ ). Brennsteiner was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1982 and 1992 .

education and profession

Brennsteiner attended secondary school after elementary school and then from 1944 to 1949 the teacher training college, from which he graduated with the Matura. In 1951 he passed the examination for the teaching post for elementary schools, in 1954 he acquired the license to teach secondary schools in the subjects of German, history and geography. Brennsteiner worked as a primary school teacher from 1949 and as a secondary school teacher from 1954. In 1963 he rose to the position of principal school director, where he also worked as a vocational school teacher and AHS teacher. In 1980 he was appointed high school supervisor.

politics

Brennsteiner was active as a staff representative between 1954 and 1981 and was active on the district board of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions in Zell am See between 1963 and 1988. Between 1965 and 1988 he also held the office of district chairman, and in 1988 he was appointed honorary chairman of the Austrian Socialist Teachers' Association in the Pinzgau district. Brennsteiner was also a member of the district school council from 1964 to 1969 and a member of the state school council from 1969. Furthermore, Brennsteiner was active as a community representative of Mittersill from 1961 to 1964 , was a member of the local council from 1964 to 1965 and vice-mayor of Uttendorf between 1969 and 1979 . In addition, he was a local councilor in Uttendorf from 1969 to 1989 and from 1989 a local representative of Uttendorf. Within the party, he held the position of local party chairman of the SPÖ Uttendorf from 1967 to 1982, and from 1982 he was also district party chairman of the SPÖ Pinzgau.

Brennsteiner was a member of the National Council from April 27, 1982 to March 31, 1992.
