Through his father, he got to know and love ice hockey , so that he started playing ice hockey himself when he was only 5 years old. He was active at EV Zeltweg , later at EC VSV and made it into the extended team squad there in the 2001/2002 season.

After an injury to his foot, Breznik began to train with weights. Rehabilitation training turned into real bodybuilding . In 2005 he took part in a bench press competition, which he won with a top performance: in the class up to 100 kg he was junior national champion.

After that, he was invited to go on the competitive stage of bodybuilding. As an under 21-year-old he started at the IFBB International Austria Cup in 2005 in Wels. He was the winner of the junior class over 75 kg and overall winner of the juniors. With that, Breznik's career as a bodybuilder began. At this event, Breznik was "discovered" by Ultimate Nutrition , a sports and nutritional supplement company , who offered him a sponsorship deal. Breznik then devoted himself entirely to bodybuilding. Every year he spent some time in the United States training, photo shoots and sporting goods fairs. At the FIBO in Essen he was repeatedly invited to acclaimed performances.

In 2008 he competed in his best form so far at the Austrian IFBB championship, this time in the men's class up to 100 kg. He not only won in this class, but also achieved a convincing overall victory. That is why he bears the title "Mister Austria".

Outside of the competition phase, Tony Breznik weighs around 110 kg with a height of 175 cm. Like his role model, Arnold Schwarzenegger , he has become popular in the USA. Like Schwarzenegger, Breznik is aiming for a career as a professional bodybuilder.
