Anton Deitmar (* 1960 in Neuenkirchen ) is a German mathematician , professor at the University of Tübingen and textbook author .

From 1980 Deitmar studied philosophy and mathematics at the University of Münster with a diploma in mathematics in 1985. He received his doctorate there in 1988 under Jürgen Elstrodt (trace formulas for integral operators on the space of invariant differential forms). He then worked as a research assistant in Münster and in 1991 as a guest researcher at Max- Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn . In 1992 he became an assistant at the University of Heidelberg , where he completed his habilitation in 1995 and then received a Heisenberg scholarship . In 2000 he became professor at the University of Exeter and in 2004 at the University of Tübingen.

He deals with number theory , automorphic forms , harmonic analysis and zeta functions (also in differential geometry ).
