Anton Emminger

Anton Emminger (born April 17, 1890 in Walkering, municipality of Vöcklamarkt , Upper Austria; † January 8, 1962 there ) was an Austrian farmer and politician .

Life

The farmer's son Emminger completed his military service between 1911 and 1914 and was a participant in the entire First World War . He was awarded the Bronze, the Great and the Small Silver Medal for Bravery .

Emminger mainly devoted himself to the cooperative system. He was a co-founder of the Attergau Dairy Association and was its chairman until 1938 and from 1945 until his death. He was also the chairman of the Schärdinger Dairy Cooperative, Upper Austria , and a member of the board of the Bar of Agricultural Cooperatives in Upper Austria. As a passionate hunter, he was also a specialist in hunting matters.

Emminger also devoted himself to local and state politics. From 1918 to 1938 and from 1945 to 1955 he was a member of the local council, from 1945 to 1949 he was mayor of his home community. He was a member of the state parliament from 1934 to 1938 as a representative of agriculture and forestry, and from 1945 to 1949 as a representative of the ÖVP . From 1934 to 1938 and from 1945 to 1950 Emminger also held the position of district chairman of the farmers 'union and was a member of the farmers' union state committee.

In 1950 he was given the professional title of an economics councilor, and in 1958 he received the Golden Raiffeisen badge .
