Erik Poppe
Erik Poppe (born June 24, 1960 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian film director , screenwriter , cameraman and former press photographer .
life and career
Erik Poppe began his career as a photographer for the Norwegian daily Verdens Gang . In 1989 he graduated from the Stockholm Film School with a degree in cinematography . As a cameraman he started working for commercials . His first feature film work as a cameraman was made in 1995 for Bent Hamer's film Eierkopf . In 1998 he made his debut as a film director. For his second feature film, Hawaii, Oslo , he was awarded the Norwegian Film Prize Amanda in 2005. In 2008 his third feature film Troubled Water premiered, which was released in German cinemas in 2010.
