Anton Julian Ferdinand (born February 18, 1985 in Peckham ) is an English football player and former U-21 international . He is the younger brother of England international Rio Ferdinand and a cousin of former Premier League player Les Ferdinand .
Player career
society
The defender made his Football League Championship debut on the first day of the 2003/04 season against Preston North End , until 2008 he played for West Ham United in the Premier League . In the summer break of 2008 he moved to Sunderland AFC . The transfer fee was about eight million pounds. On August 31, 2011, he moved to the Premier League newly promoted Queens Park Rangers and signed a three-year contract.
On January 29, 2013 Ferdinand moved to the end of the season on loan to the Turkish first division club Bursaspor .
In the summer of 2013 Ferdinand switched to Antalyaspor , another Turkish first division club. After this club missed relegation after one season, Ferdinand left the club after a year.
National team
Ferdinand made his debut in the England U-21 national team on April 17, 2004 in a game against Ukraine and played 17 games in which he did not score. He had to turn down an invitation as a substitute for the English World Cup team due to an injury.
Others
In October 2006, Anton Ferdinand was briefly arrested in connection with a brawl outside a nightclub and released after paying bail . A hearing in November 2006 had no consequences.
Racism allegations Ferdinand against the national player and Chelsea FC captain John Terry ended in mid-July 2012 with an acquittal for Terry.
