Anton Jelinek (born January 17, 1855 in Groß Seelowitz, today Židlochovice , † April 10, 1931 in Brno ) was an Austrian building contractor and politician .

Life

Born the son of a city ​​architect , Jelinek studied at the German Technical University in Brno after attending secondary school in Brno . During his studies in 1874 he became a member of the Moravia Brno fraternity . He was a year old volunteer in the 2nd Landwehr kuk Dragoons regiment , most recently as first lieutenant . He became a graduate engineer , entered his father's construction business and became a builder . After the death of his father in 1884, he took over his company, with which, among other things, the municipal citizenship institution, the double elementary school in Altbrünn, the Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Schule, an extension of the Moravian Trade Museum, the German House and the State Trade School built.

Among other things, he was a member of the municipal committee and the committee of the first district of the state capital Brno and chairman of the health insurance company. He was chief rifleman of the Brno civil rifle club and was on the board of the national main shooting range for Moravia. In 1902 he became the city architect of Brno, city ​​councilor and deputy mayor.
