Anton Josef Klement
Anton Josef Klement (born February 10, 1701 in Duppau , Bohemia , † April 8, 1783 in Vienna ) was Empress Elisabeth's court controller .
Life
Anton Josef Klement first learned drapery , then his cousin living in Vienna (Hofkammerrat Christoph Julius Schierl) took him to his Vienna office. With the help of influential patrons, he became the court controller of Empress Elisabeth, the wife of Emperor Charles VI. on. He enjoyed several inheritances and founded the Duppauer Gymnasium Foundation . This was confirmed by Empress Maria Theresa in 1757 and Klement was promoted to the nobility in 1768 as "Anton Josef Edler Ritter von Klement" .
Anton Josef Klement died on April 8, 1783 in Vienna and was buried on April 17, 1783 in the collegiate church in Duppau.
