Anton Koch (born January 20, 1903 ; † unknown) was an Austrian soccer player who won three championship titles with the SK Admira Vienna in the 1920s and 30s and was part of the national team .

Club career

Koch, who came from the Admiral offspring, was able to gain a regular place in the central position of the Jedleseer runners in the early 1920s, which he would hold for most of the decade. After Admira was initially only barely able to achieve relegation in the top division several times, the team took notice for the first time in 1923 with a third place in the championship. After further places in midfield, they finally fought for the title in 1926/27 when there was a play-off against Brigittenauer AC on the last day of the game , which Admira won 5-0 and won the first championship title in the club's history.

In the following season, the black and whites were not only able to defend the title with a row of runners that included Koch, Johann Klima and Karl Schott , but also won the double with a 2-1 win against Vienna AC in the cup final . In the Mitropacup they failed in the semifinals at Ferencvárosi FC . After another runner-up title, however, the middle runner's appearances became more sparse and when there were few prospects of a place in the first team after Karl Humenberger's appearance , Koch left his home club at the end of 1931 and switched to the third-class Wiener Turffreunde , who this season had Made promotion to the second league.

After that, Koch returned once more to Admira, where he made a few missions as a right winger in the championship season 1931/32 . The following season he was active at the first division promoted FC Libertas , where he was mostly used as a center forward before moving to the French Division 2 at FC Rouen in 1933 , where he played in a team with Roman Schramseis and Ferenc Weinhardt , but just missed promotion . After a season in France he returned to Austria and played for another year with the lawn sport friends before he ended his career with the lower-class company team of the Hammerbrotwerke .
