Anton Kohl (politician, 1867)

Anton Kohl (born October 11, 1867 in Jungbunzlau, today's Mladá Boleslav ; † January 27, 1934 in Vienna ) was an Austrian local politician of the Social Democratic Workers' Party of Austria (SDAP).

Kohl was a tool fitter and held the office of district chairman of the United Labor Movement in Vienna 3. He was a co-founder and board member of the metalworkers' union and the consumer cooperative. Kohl was a member of the Vienna City Council from 1919 to 1934 and from 1919 to 1920 a member of the Lower Austrian Parliament and, after the “split off” of Vienna from Lower Austria, from 1920 to 1934 a member of the Vienna Parliament .

A community building with around 180 residential units erected by the municipality of Vienna in 1927/28 on the former site of the Rüdenhof (Rüdengasse 8-10) was named Anton-Kohl-Hof in 1949 in honor of Kohl . There is also a plaque in memory of him.
