Anton Lamboj

Anton Lamboj (* 1956 ) is an Austrian biologist and ichthyologist . From 1988 he studied biology as a part-time job, got his master's degree in 1993 and received his doctorate in 1997. The theses for both degrees dealt with the systematics of the cichlids of West and Central Africa. These cichlids and in particular the Chromidotilapiini are still a focus of his research. Lamboj is currently employed at the Department of Integrative Zoology at the University of Vienna . Lamboj made numerous trips to Central and West Africa for field studies as well as further trips to South America and Asia. He has published more than 100 publications (scientific and aquaristic) in six languages ​​and is the author or co-author of numerous books.
