Anton Raffl

Anton Raffl (born April 23, 1939 in Haiming , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

After attending an eight-year elementary school , Anton Raffl began an apprenticeship as a locksmith in 1953 , which he broke off that same year. He then worked as an unskilled worker for three years . In 1957 he found a job with the municipality of Haiming. Here he made a quick career, becoming community secretary in 1963 and only three years later, in 1966, head of the community office. He also acquired a working middle school in 1969 after visiting Innsbruck , the Matura .

Just one year earlier, in 1968, Raffl was sworn in as deputy mayor of Haiming. He held this position until 1992. Within his party, the ÖVP, Raffl belonged to the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB). In 1973 he became district chairman of the ÖAAB in the Imst district and in 1975 deputy state chairman for all of Tyrol.

Raffl also took care of tourism in Tyrol and was a founding member and chairman of the Central Upper Inn Valley tourism region .

From June to October 1979 he was a member of the Federal Council for Tyrol .

Also in 1979 Raffl was elected to the supervisory board of Hypo Tirol Bank . In 1992 he was elected First Deputy of that body.
