Anton Rupp

Anton Rupp (born March 16, 1941 in Wiesing ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and toolmaker . From 1983 to 2003 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and from 1984 to 2006 mayor of Herzogenburg .

Life

Anton Rupp attended secondary school after primary school and subsequently worked as a toolmaker. From 1967 onwards he became involved in local politics in the Herzogenburg municipal council , and from 1971 onwards he was a union chairman at Gebrüder Grundmann .

He also held the position of Vice Mayor from 1975 and served as Mayor of Herzogenburg between 1984 and 2006. Furthermore, he was chamber councilor of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees of Lower Austria and on December 1, 1983 moved in for Leopold Grünzweig as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament, where he worked until April 24, 2003.

During his tenure as mayor, the SPÖ achieved a two-thirds majority and was able to maintain it successfully.

He was also a member of the Chamber of Labor of Lower Austria .
