Anton Schöpfer (* 1879 in Innsbruck ; † October 9, 1960 in Solbad Hall ) was an Austrian administrative lawyer and politician of the FPÖ .

Life

Creator studied engineering and law and graduated with doctorate to Dr. jur. from. From 1900 he was a member of the Corps Gothia Innsbruck .

In 1906 he became a civil servant at the St. Anton train station office. A year later he became a train engineer at the State Railway Directorate Innsbruck, 2nd department, for legal and general administrative matters. In 1908 he was employed as a railway designer at the State Railway Directorate Innsbruck, 2nd department, for legal and general administrative matters. From 1910 to 1914 he was Ministerial Concepter, Railway Ministry Presidential Bureau, and from 1915 to 1916 Ministerial Vice Secretary at the Railway Ministry Presidential Bureau. In the years from 1917 to 1918 he was appointed Ministerial Secretary and from 1925 to 1930 he was Ministerialrat Federal Railway Director at the Federal Railway Directorate in Villach.

In 1932 he became Ministerialrat Federal Railway Director at the Federal Railway Directorate Vienna-Northeast. When Egon Seefehlner , the former General Director of the Austrian Federal Railways (BBÖ) was suspended in the course of the Hirtenberg arms affair , Schöpfer was appointed BBÖ General Director in February 1933 and held this position until March 1938.

His statement that joining the Fatherland Front was a matter of course for all BBÖ employees, sparked violent protests from the Social Democrats .

Anton Schöpfer was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp from May 24, 1938 to September 20, 1938 .

From 1956 to May 19, 1957 he was regional party leader of the Freedom Party of Tyrol.
