Anton Volmert

Anton Volmert (born November 25, 1909 in Ossendorf ; † November 19, 1989 ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

He was the son of a builder and grew up in Ossendorf. After attending primary school and the Marianum grammar school with the Abitur , he studied German and history at the universities of Cologne and Graz . He was qualified to teach middle and elementary schools. In the mid-30s he married the court heiress Maria Leistenschneider in Warburg-Altstadt, completed an agricultural training and worked as a farmer. In addition, he was qualified to teach agricultural vocational schools. He had 11 children with his wife.

After the Second World War, he joined the CDU and was district chairman in Warburg from 1953 .

MP

From April 20, 1947 to July 25, 1970, Volmert was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituencies 133 Warburg and 135 Büren-Warburg.

He was a member of the district council of the Warburg district from 1956 to 1960 and from 1964.
