Anton Xaver Regalat Wänker von Dankenschweil (born June 14, 1747 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † April 12, 1821 in St. Petersburg ) was a lawyer, a merchant of the first guild and an army supplier.

Life

Anton Xaver Regalat was born in Freiburg im Breisgau as the son of Johann Martin Wanker (1713–1761) and Anna Maria Cleopha von Dankenschweil (1721–1793). In St. Petersburg he became rich as an army supplier and ennobled by the tsar. With the permission of Emperor Franz II , he was raised to the imperial nobility on November 28, 1796 , received fief rights and from then on was allowed to call himself "von Dankenschweil" ( Privilegium Denominandi ). So he changed his name from "Wanker" to "Wänker von Dankenschweil".

From Prince Wäsemskoy he bought the noble Alexandrovsky estate southeast of St. Petersburg, which his family sold again after his death.

His descendants included u. a. the medical councilor and city physician Anton .
