Anton von Lowtzow
Ernst Christian Anton von Lowtzow , mostly Anton von Lowtzow , (* before 1842, † after 1855) was a German painter who lived and worked in Bremen from 1842 to 1855 .
Date, place of birth and date of death are not known.
At first Anton von Lowtzow also worked as a theater painter , later he mainly made portraits. In addition to city views, the Focke Museum also has a ship painting by him. He also gave drawing lessons. His drawings of public buildings and the Bremer ramparts , which served as templates for lithographs by Friedrich Julius Tempeltey, were published in 1851 and 1852, and his large panorama of Bremen was printed by August Carl Haun (1815-1894) as important evidence of Bremen's architectural history . His watercolors are completely or partially lost in a - probably late - copy of the Koster Chronicle, which was actually created in the 17th century .
