Antoni Andrzej Łyko (born May 27, 1907 in Krakow , Austria-Hungary , † June 3, 1941 in Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp ) was a Polish football player.

Life

Antoni Łyko played as a striker, first for Rakowiczanka, then from 1930 to 1939 for Wisła Kraków . For the club he played 108 games and scored 30 goals. In 1937 he was appointed to the Polish national football team. For this he played two international matches against Latvia . He was nominated for the 1938 World Cup but did not travel to Strasbourg .

After the invasion of Poland in 1939 by Nazi Germany he was from the Gestapo arrested and the Auschwitz-Birkenau deported , where he arrived June 3, 1941 by shooting was executed.
