Antoni Kuczyński

Antoni Kuczyński (born 1935 ) is a Polish historian and ethnologist . He is a professor at the Uniwersytet Wrocławski (Breslau). His main research area is the history of Siberia , the history of the Poles in Siberia and the exiles in this region. Kuczyński was 1980-1989 General Secretary of the Polskie Towarzystwo Ludoznawcze and 1991, the founder of the publishing project Verbanntenbibliothek ( Biblioteka Zesłańca ), which works on exile in Russia and in the USSR published. He is editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine Zesłaniec , an activist of the Związek Sybiraków (Association of Siberians), a Polish organization that brings together former exiles who call themselves Siberians. In 1995 he received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta , and in 1985 the Silver Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland . He is currently a lecturer at the WZNPiE of the Catholic University of Lublin (law and economics) in Tomaszów Lubelski .
