Antoniberg (Karlstein)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Antoniberg is a pass road ( St 2101 ) southwest of the Thumsee in Bad Reichenhall . At its highest point at 670  m is the 100 m long Antonibergtunnel. This pass is named after the Antoniberg, where the old road used to pass the Antoniberg chapel. As the old road became too small and could no longer cope with the increasing traffic, a new road was laid a few meters lower at the foot of the old road. Below the pass is the Nesselgraben with the firing range of the Bundeswehr garrison in Bad Reichenhall . Shortly after the tunnel opens the road crossing-free expanded in the B 305 ( German Alpine Road ) towards Weissbach on the Alpine Road or to so-called wine Kaser according Schneizlreuth . However, the course of the main road is not continuous here, but from Antoniberg to Weißbach. The municipality boundary between Bad Reichenhall and Schneizlreuth runs both in the direction of Schneizlreuth and Weißbach after the unplanned confluence ends.

The old Antonibergstraße is now part of the brine pipeline route . On the Reichenhaller side is the Antoniusbrunnen at the tunnel entrance. There is also a parking lot there, where today you can reach today's brine pipeline via a few steps. The Davidswald hiking car park is on the Schneizlreuter side. From there you also get to the brine pipeline path.
