Antonio Albanese (born October 10, 1964 in Olginate , Lombardy ) is an Italian actor , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Albanese, whose family comes from Sicily , received the diploma of the Civica Scuola D'Arte Drammatica di Milano in 1991 . After starting out in the Milanese cabaret scene , he was quickly discovered by television and had constant appearances in the popular series Mai dire gol , for which he developed a number of bizarre characters, which he also expanded and shaped in the following plays. In the feature film , the success came with the 1996 Vesna va veloce by Carlo Mazzacurati ; the following year he made his debut as a director of the self-written Uomo d'acqua dolce . In 1999 and 2002 further films followed under her own direction. More recent works as actors were created for Pupi Avati and Francesca Archibugi .

He continued his television work - in 2005 he tried a new edition of the successful television show Mai dire gol as Mai dire Lunedì with Gialappa's band ; he also continued to play on Italian stages.

Albanese was nominated twice for the David di Donatello and four times for the Nastro d'Argento , without being able to win any of the prizes.
