Antonio Cavalieri Ducati (born April 2, 1853 in Comacchio , † June 27, 1927 in Bologna ) was an Italian entrepreneur .

In 1926 he founded the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati . The Società Scientifica Radiobrevetti Ducati initially produced components for radios . After the end of the Second World War , the production of the auxiliary bicycle motor for the Ducati Cucciolo was added in 1946 . This took place under state administration without the participation of the Ducati family; the family had sold their shares to the Italian state in 1948. In the same decade, Ducati began its own development of complete vehicles. Antonio Ducati was married and had three sons Bruno, Marcello and Adriano.
