Antonio Mayans

José Antonio Mayáns Hervás (born May 4, 1939 in Valencia ) is a Spanish actor .

Life

Mayáns took acting courses in London , which made him part of the Work Shop in his home country , which brought together English and American actors in Spain and which also enabled him to make his first film roles through his connection to Samuel Bronston at the end of the 1950s. After years with small and supporting roles, his career only got going towards the end of the following decade with roles in horror films . Since 1973 his collaboration with Jess Franco is particularly noteworthy, who used him in numerous films; often under the pseudonym Robert Foster . His filmography includes over 180 titles. Occasionally he also worked as a screenwriter and director.

Mayáns is the father of two daughters who are also active as actresses.
