Mondo Cannibale 3 - The blonde goddess of cannibals ( Mondo cannibale ) is a cannibal film by Jess Franco that is close to the exploitation genre and was produced in France in 1980. The film is often also run as an Italian or Spanish-German production, which is not correct, because the film was ultimately made as a purely French production by the Eurociné company .

Contrary to the German title, it is not the third part of a film series that began in 1972 with Umberto Lenzi's Mondo Cannibale , but an independent film that - like Mondo Cannibale, Part 2 - Der Vogelmensch (1977) - is a misleading film name and has no relation to its predecessors.

For a DVD release, another adventure film Franco (which first appeared in Germany as Diamonds of Kilimandjaro ) was given the lurid German title Mondo Cannibale 4 - Nackt unter Wilden , not least because of better marketing opportunities , although this neither has anything to do with the cannibal film genre has in common with other production. It's just a marketing ploy.

action

Tropical specialist Professor Jeremy Taylor, accompanied by his wife Elisabeth and their daughter Lena, is traveling through Malawi's jungle as part of an expedition . On the way, her chartered boat is suddenly attacked by cannibals . The local boatman and Taylor's wife are brutally murdered while the scientist is dragged to the cannibal village, where his arm is chopped off. At the same time, the aging chief of the ogres discovers the unconscious Lena. The old man praises the young girl as the new “white goddess”, whereupon the savages leave Taylor and devote themselves to the worship of their new deity. The seriously injured Taylor uses the opportunity to escape into civilization - but without his daughter.

In New York , the traumatized scientist is initially treated medically and nursed over the years. The descriptions of his experiences are hardly heard, although he once returned hurt and alone. Only his nurse Ana believes him. After his recovery, Taylor makes the decision to look for his missing daughter, since he is convinced that she is still alive. He succeeds in winning his former client, the Shelton company, to finance another company in the dangerous cannibal area. Taylor starts the expedition with a group of wealthy adventurers who were required to take them along and who think they are on an enjoyable journey.

In the impenetrable cannibal area, the illustrious tour company is hostile and decimated one after the other. Only Professor Taylor, Ana and a photographer named John survive. After further torture, the trio is overwhelmed and captured by the cannibal tribe. When Ana is brutally slaughtered in the native village and the other two prisoners face a similar fate, Taylor's missing daughter Lena appears, who meanwhile rules the cannibals as a white goddess due to her skin and hair color. At the same time she is the wife of the tribal leader. The self-confident woman forbids her subordinates to kill the prisoners. At night, Lena frees the two prisoners, who then flee. She chooses a life with her tribe herself. A little later, Taylor tries to kidnap his daughter against her will, but the attempt fails miserably. While trying to escape, John is killed by the angry cannibal leader. At the end of the film, the one-armed Taylor successfully defends himself against the tribal leader's attacks and ultimately defeats him. So that her husband's life is spared, Lena quickly decides to follow her father abroad. The cannibals are thus robbed of their white goddess.
