Cannibal Terror (original title: Terreur cannibale , or Terror caníbal ) is a cannibal film that is close to the exploitation genre and was made in 1981 in a Franco-Spanish co-production.

The film was released in 2001 in German synchronization as a video cassette through X-rated cult video; shortly afterwards the DVD was evaluated in the “Red Edition” of Laser Paradise.

action

The two unsuccessful petty criminals Mario and Roberto kidnap the little daughter of a wealthy industrialist with the help of their busty friend Rina. Then they demand a ransom from little Laurence's parents, the Danvilles . Even before the money is handed over, a moronic middleman of the crooks is arrested by the police after a traffic accident. The three kidnappers misjudge their situation and, fearing justice, flee to an old hermit named Antonio, who lives near a cannibal tribe with his much younger wife Manuela. The friendly host, who trades with the natives in the jungle , initially grants the child kidnappers a safe haven.

However, events come thick and fast when the instinctual Mario brutally rapes the attractive Manuela. The vengeful Antonio atones for the offense and lures his wife's tormentor into the wilderness under a pretext to hand him over to the cannibal natives. Meanwhile, the humiliated Manuela informs a strange friend about the kidnappers present. He contacts the authorities so that the worried parents of the little girl are notified within a very short time. With the help of a helpful border official, the Danvilles finally reach Antonio's property. A quick encounter does not take place, as the kidnappers notice the arrival of the small rescue force and flee with their child hostage into the adjacent jungle.

In the jungle, Laurence and her kidnappers are overwhelmed by the cannibals, captured and brought into their small village community. Antonio, the child’s parents and two armed men follow their tracks undeterred. Manuela joins the group with trigger-happy reinforcements. Meanwhile, after a solemn ceremony, Roberto and Rina become victims of the savages, while little Laurence becomes part of the cannibal community. At the end of the film, Antonio succeeds in freeing little Laurence from the clutches of the cannibals thanks to his negotiating skills, so that she can go into the arms of her parents.

criticism

The film is ignored by standard works and unanimously panned by fansites; the scenes are played miserably and drawn out with meaningless dialogues; the gore scenes as ridiculous as the painting of the characters of the cannibals; the production inferior and the German-language dubbing finally amateurish-ridiculous.
