action
Up-and-coming actress Laura Crawford falls victim to a diabolical plan by her manager Jane. These kidnapped together with three hoodlums the actor during the preparations for her new film. Then you drag the starlet to a tropical island overgrown with jungle in order to extort a high ransom from the studio owner far away from civilization . Unfortunately, the kidnappers choose an island where cannibals regularly sacrifice women to a god-like monster with oversized eyes.
Meanwhile, the studio boss is preparing a rescue operation and hires Vietnam veteran Peter Weston, who visits the remote island with his companion Jack, a helicopter pilot. When the ransom is handed over, there is a wild shooting, in the course of which Jack is wounded. Laura uses the mess to escape into the jungle. There it falls into the hands of the cannibals after a while. During the search for Laura, their kidnappers are decimated one after the other.
Meanwhile, Peter and Jack can board a kidnapper's small yacht that is anchored on the beach. Afterwards, the battle-hardened Peter goes looking for Laura again, while the injured Jack remains with an unknown accomplice at the boat, where he is murdered a little later by the "cannibal deity". Peter eventually finds Laura imprisoned by the primitive tribe. At the end of the film there is a duel between Peter and the malicious cannibal deity, who can be defeated. After the death of the monster, the natives break away from their hated cult. In the last scene of the film, a visibly relaxed Peter travels back to civilization in the presence of the half-naked Laura and the ransom.
Reviews
The lexicon of international films wrote that the “technically miserable” production was a “blood and sex-oriented shocker” . The lexicon of the horror film says that this "pretty much the deppertsten ninety minutes" were, "Jess Franco depending on celluloid has made capture." Furthermore, the horror film lexicon cites the filmdienst , after which the "lousy product" primarily for his " Prejudice reinforcing drawing of blacks ” and the “ unmotivated reference to Vietnam ”are negative.
