Antonio Pellegrini

Antonio Pellegrini (born August 11, 1812 in Rome , † November 2, 1887 in Rome) was an Italian cardinal .

Life

He was born the son of Benedetto Pellegrini, a patrician of Velletri and Piperno , and Maria Magdalena Storani.

Pius IX appointed him in the consistory of December 28, 1877 cardinal deacon of the titular deaconry Santa Maria in Aquiro . Although he was a cardinal, he was never ordained a bishop.

He took part in the conclave of 1878 , when Pope Leo XIII. was chosen to participate.

He died of pneumonia and his body was buried in Campo Verano .
