Antonio Ríos Certuche

Antonio Ríos Zertuche (born November 23, 1894 in Monclova , Coahuila , † 1981 ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

He attended the Ateneo "Antonio de la Funete" in Saltillo . He joined the constitutionalists who rebelled against Porfirio Díaz .

Antonio Ríos Zertuche played a key role in luring Emiliano Zapata into his fatal ambush in 1919 . He condemned the firing squad that executed Colonel Jesús Guajardo.

Antonio Ríos Zertuche was considered to be Álvaro Obregón's brother in arms . According to the official language, Obregon died on July 17, 1928 in an assassination attempt by the religious zealot and seminary student José de León Toral. As a result, Antonio Ríos Zertuche took over from Roberto Cruz as Inspector General de Policía of Mexico City .

Antonio Ríos Zertuche was promoted to brigadier general in 1932 and division general in 1940. He initiated the establishment of the Ciudad militar de Tapachula , Chiapas .
