The former municipality ( Freguesia ) belongs to the district ( concelho ) of Coimbra and has a total area of ​​8.1 km². There are 2291 inhabitants living in the area of ​​the former municipality (as of June 30, 2011).

As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, Antuzede was merged with the municipality of Vil de Matos to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Antuzede e Vil de Matos . Antuzede became the headquarters of the new municipality.
