The Apple Glacier is a glacier on the Knox coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows in a west-north-westerly direction along the southern flank of the Bunger Hills and flows into the Edisto Channel of the Mawson Sea in the form of the Edisto glacier tongue .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after the US geologist Earl Taylor Apfel (1892-1973) from Syracuse University , who was involved in Operation Windmill (1947-1948) at the establishment of astronomical observation stations in Queen Marie Land as well the Knox and Budd coast in Wilkesland was involved.
