Apocalypse was a Swiss thrash metal band from Geneva , which was founded in 1984 and split up around 1993.
history
After the band was founded in 1984, a first demo followed in 1985. The band consisted of singer Roberto Pierdona, guitarists Julien Brocher and Pierre-Alain "Zurich" Zurcher, bassist Jean-Claude Schneider and drummer Andre "Momos" Domenjoz. For the following self-titled debut album Roberto Pierdona was replaced by singer Carlos Sprenger. The album was released in 1988 on Out of Tune Records , where Music for Nations became aware of the album and re-released the album on its sub-label Under One Flag . Tours through Switzerland together with Metallica followed in the early 1990s . Due to the tours, bassist Jean Claude “Bourreau” Schneider left the band for a while, as the tours could not be reconciled with his family life. In 1993 the second album followed with Faithless , on which Nick Raeboud was represented as a new singer. Then the band broke up.
style
The band played Thrash Metal, which “ sounded like a kind of ' Bay Area Light'” and was described as “[e] simple, melodic Speed Metal for in between”, which “fans of, for example, PARADOX [...] their joy [...] have ”.
