The Apostolic Vicariate Micronesia ( Latin : Apostolicus Vicariatus Micronesiae ) was a Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate located in Micronesia .
history
The Vicariate Apostolic Micronesia was founded on July 19, 1844 by Pope Gregory XVI. established with the papal bull ex debito from cession of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of West Oceania as the Apostolic Prefecture of Micronesia . On May 15, 1886, the Apostolic Prefecture of Micronesia gave up parts of its territory in order to establish the Mission sui juris East-Carolines and the Mission sui juris West-Carolines . In 1887 the Apostolic Prefecture of Micronesia was founded by Pope Leo XIII. raised to the apostolic vicariate.
On May 10, 1889, the Vicariate Apostolic Micronesia was by Pope Leo XIII. dissolved. The Apostolic Vicariate of New Britain was established from the territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Micronesia .
