The Vorwerk apartment building is a listed building in the Barmen district of Wuppertal . It has the street address Große Flurstr. 51 , but there is also an entrance to the residential building at Mühlenweg 28 .

The Barmer construction company for workers' housing had the high-rise planned by the architect Bernhard Hermkes built on the property of the Vorwerk & Co. company between 1953 and 1954. The plans were based on sketches by the company owner August Mittelsten Scheid from 1908. The twelve-storey residential building, which was initially planned as an administrative building , with a staggered attic ( penthouse ) and a protruding flat roof, is located opposite the Vorwerk corporate headquarters , which was also planned by Hermkes originates.

It was one of the first of the Wuppertal skyscrapers. On February 27, 2002, the building was placed under monument protection.
