Entrance to Aquatica

Aquatica is a 20- acre water park in Orlando , Florida . The first part of the park opened on March 1, 2008, and the actual opening was on April 4, 2008. It is the SeaWorld Group's third theme park in Orlando , alongside SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove . SeaWorld theme parks are owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment , a subsidiary of the Blackstone Group .

The Aquatica amusement park consists of 36 water slides, six rivers and several lagoons. The landscaping of the park is based on the landscapes of New Zealand , Australia and New Guinea . The main attraction is a water slide that takes you through a transparent tube through a crystal blue lagoon with Commerson dolphins and other animals. These dolphins were chosen because their black and white drawing resembles the symbol of SeaWorld, the Orca Shamu.

Aquatica is the first all-new theme park to be built in Central Florida since 2000 (SeaWorlds Discovery Cove opened).

Attractions

Body slides

The main attraction of the park: The Dolphin Plunge
Dolphin plunge
Dolphin Plunge is the park's most popular attraction. After the start, you slide into a top in the two parallel closed tubes, and then slide in transparent tubes through a dolphin pool in which four Commerson dolphins swim.

Mat slides

Taumata Racer
Taumata Racer
Taumata Racer is an eight-lane mat slide on which, lying on a rubber mat, first a spinning top and then a steep slope is slid head first. The specialty of this slide is that the parallel lanes create a competitive character. Taumata is the abbreviation for Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu , the Māori name of a 305 m high hill in New Zealand .

Tire slides

Whanau Way
Whanau Way is a quadruple tire slide . The four half-open tubes, which can be driven through with the aid of a two-seater tire, are arranged mirrored to the center of the launch tower. Whānau means extended family in the Māori language .
Tassie's Twisters
Tassie's Twister is located on the island in the park, which is enclosed by Loggerhead Lane. The specialty of this slide is that it has the special element of a funnel. After a short stretch in a closed tube you get into this funnel and slide in a circle until you slow down and fall through the hole in the middle of the funnel into a collecting basin. Tassie's Twisters include two of these described driving sequences that start from a launch tower.
Walhalla Wave & HooRoo Run
Walhalla Wave & HooRoo Run are two tire slides that belong to the same facility and are driven on with the same four-seat tires. Both slides end in the same catchment basin. From this collecting basin, a mechanical lift for the tires leads up in the middle of the two chutes. Walhalla Wave is a very winding slide with many curves, which is open in the upper section and closed in the lower. HooRoo Run is a very fast slide without curves, which is characterized by its changing downward gradient.

Flow channels

The lazy river Roa′s Rapids
Roa's Rapids
Roa′s Rapids is a fast river through turbulent waters and high waves, along geysers and eddies. It occupies the central square of the park.
Loggerhead Lane
This flow channel leads slowly through a grotto with cichlids . From here you have the best view of the Dolphin Plunge with the Commerson dolphins. You can also get to Tassie's Twister from here .

Wave pools

The two wave pools are around 7,400 m² in size. The beaches are equipped with loungers and umbrellas.

Cutback Cove
This wave pool has stronger and bigger waves.
Big Surf Shores
This wave pool has gentler and more rolling waves.

Areas for children

Kata's Kookaburra Cove
Kata's Kookaburra Cove is a smaller slide for children.
Walkabout Waters
Walkabout Waters is a type of climbing frame in a shallow pool with slides and ladders.
