Arabsat 5A at 30.5 ° East is a television satellite of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (ARABSAT) based in Riyadh .
It belongs to the 5th generation of the ARABSAT satellite fleet, was launched on June 26, 2010 21:41 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA and is intended to replace or supplement Arabsat 2B . Arabsat 5A is based on Astrium's Eurostar 3000 bus and has a Thales Alenia Space communications payload . At the start it had a mass of 4,939 kg and should provide at least 11 kW electrical power for about 15 years.
