The Arajin chumb 1997 was the sixth season of the second highest Armenian league in men's football .

mode

After two years of autumn-spring mode, the Armenian Football Association decided to hold the event again in the calendar year.

Nine teams played against each other twice, divided into a first and a second half. Sangesur Goris and Arabkir Yerevan, who were relegated from Bardsragujn chumb last year, were not active this year.

The first in the table rose directly, the second-placed player played against the penultimate Bardsragujn chumb for promotion.
