The construction and real estate law working group (ARGE construction law) is one of 29 legal working groups in the German Lawyers' Association (DAV) . It is the largest professional organization for construction and real estate law in Europe. The ARGE was founded in 1992. Today it unites around 2,800 lawyers.

tasks

As a professional association, ARGE Bau- und Immobilienrecht promotes the professional and economic interests of its members on the subject of construction law .

The ARGE holds a building law conference twice a year. This takes place once in spring and once in autumn in changing cities in Germany or in neighboring countries. At the two-day event, judges from the Federal Court of Justice , the Supreme Court , legal scholars and practicing lawyers will give lectures on current developments and issues in building law.

According to a survey by the consulting firm Porsche Consulting , in 2014 every second private builder complained about construction defects. This resulted in 40,000 court judgments. In 2017, according to the German Society for Extrajudicial Dispute Settlement in the Construction and Real Estate Industry eV (DGA-Bau), there were even 100,000 legal disputes. In order to avoid lengthy and costly legal proceedings, the ARGE Construction Law has developed the Arbitration and Arbitration Rules for Construction Disputes (SOBau). The ARGE regularly offers advanced training for the training of arbitrators and arbitrators .

Another focus is on promoting young talent in construction law. To this end, the ARGE set up the Young Construction Lawyer working group, which focuses on the special needs of young lawyers. The “Summa cum Bau” young talent award developed by ARGE Construction Law honors young construction lawyers for special achievements and is endowed with 1,000 euros.
