Working group of women's and gender research institutions in Berlin universities

The Working Group of Women and Gender Research Institutions in Berlin Universities (afg) is an inter- university association of twelve institutions for women and gender research in Berlin.

background

The working group was founded in 2000. Its main goals are to raise the profile of Berlin as a scientific location in the field of women and gender studies , to strengthen cooperation between universities, and to transfer knowledge and advise on policy.

An office was set up at the TU in 2018 .

Similar working groups in other federal states include the Network Women and Gender Research NRW , the State Working Group of the Institutions for Women and Gender Research in Lower Saxony (LAGEN) in Lower Saxony, the Gender and Women Research Center of the Hessian Universities (gFFZ), the Coordination Office for Gender Research & Equal Opportunities in Saxony-Anhalt (KGC) and the Gender Knowledge Center in Hamburg.

Members

Members of the afg are the four Berlin universities ( FU with the Margherita von Brentano Center for Gender Research , HU with the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies , TU with the Center for Interdisciplinary Women and Gender Studies and the UdK ), the Charité and the seven Berlin universities ( ASH , Beuth , EHB , HTW , HWR with the Harriet Taylor Mill Institute for Economics and Gender Studies , KHSB , Art Academy Berlin-Weißensee ).

Afg spokespersons are Sabine Hark from TU and Claudia Gather from HWR .
