Working group of heads of professional fire departments

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Working Group of Heads of Professional Fire Brigades (AGBF) is a voluntary association of heads of professional fire brigades in Germany . It is a self-supporting association in the German Association of Cities (DST).

history

The AGBF was founded on June 8, 1952 in Mannheim because the professional fire brigades did not see themselves adequately represented in the committees of the German Fire Brigade Association and the Association for the Promotion of German Fire Protection . The initiator was the head of the professional fire brigade Kiel, Holsten. The first chairman was the head of the Mannheim professional fire brigade, Gert Magnus. Until 1989, only West German professional fire services were represented in the AGBF. In March 1990, representatives of professional fire departments from the GDR took part for the first time .

tasks

The AGBF has by his own account , "the task of nursing experience, a coordination on major issues of fire departments to work as well as the principles and recommendations in the field of firefighting, the emergency service , the civil protection and security in the field of environmental protection to develop."   Special The AGBF is important, for example, in the training of height rescue groups , in which it forms the quasi-standard. The same applies to the protection goals developed by the AGBF as quality criteria (dealing with critical apartment fires - deadline for assistance , functional strength , degree of achievement), which represent a basis for current fire protection planning.

organization

The AGBF consists of 16 regional organizations with regional chairmen and the AGBF-Bund as a federal organization. The AGBF-Bund has a chairman and several deputies. The specialist work is carried out in six permanent working groups, which in turn have their own chairmen. There are also working groups on specific topics.

The chairmanship of the AGBF Bund and the respective working groups is taken over by the heads of the professional fire departments in Germany or high-ranking department heads of the respective professional fire departments.

The chairman of the AGBF-Bund, fire director Jochen Stein, heads the professional fire brigade in Bonn.
