Ardentinny ( Gaelic : Àird an t-Sionnaich ) is a Scottish coastal village with about 150 inhabitants, in the "Argyll" forest park on the west bank of Loch Long at the foot of Glenfinart .

The place is located in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and attracts visitors with its stone and sandy beaches in every season. The regular bus connections to and from the ferries at Hunters Quay and Dunoon give the place good transport links. Ardentinny can also be reached by land via the A82 from Glasgow via the A815 and A880 .

The name Ardentinny means "hill of fire", a derivation, either from the old rite of the lighting fire to the "God of Bels" or because of the beacon earlier, for the sailors of the ferry between Ardentinny and Coulport . This was used by the Dukes of Argyll for journeys between Dunoon, Inveraray and Rosneath Castle . Argyll cattle dealers traveling to markets in central Scotland also used this link.

The local economy has two main pillars, tourism and agriculture. There are two hotels and several holiday homes in Ardentinny. There are various leisure activities such as the Ardentinny Outdoor Center, mountain bike trails, marked hiking trails and golf courses.

In agriculture, there is a chicken farm in addition to sheep and cattle breeding. There is also a local fisherman who mainly catches crabs and prawns with his boat.
