Argyll and Bute is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of eight constituencies in the Highlands and Islands electoral region , which was redesigned as part of the constituency revision in 2011. The boundaries of the Argyll and Bute constituency also experienced minor changes in the southeast of the region. It covers a large part of the Council Area Argyll and Bute with the islands of Bute , Islay , Jura , Colonsay , Mull , Coll and Tiree . A representative is sent.
The constituency covers an area of 6,374.1 km 2 . This makes it the third largest constituency for the Scottish Parliament. In the 2011 census survey, a total of 62,306 people lived within its borders.
