Inverness and Nairn is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced as one of eight constituencies in the Highlands and Islands electoral region when the constituencies were revised in 2011 . Inverness and Nairn comprises the southeastern areas of the Highland Council Area . The constituency was formed from parts of the former constituency of Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber with the cities of Inverness , Nairn and Grantown-on-Spey and sends one MP.
The constituency covers an area of 1,878.9 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 86,191 people lived within its borders. This makes Inverness and Nairn the third most populous constituency for the Scottish Parliament.
