Ardnahoe Loch is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The lake, which is a maximum of 650 m long and 390 m wide and extends in an east-west direction, is located in the thinly populated, hilly region in the north-east of the island between the two whiskey distilleries Caol Ila and Bunnahabhain . Ardnahoe Loch is fed by several small streams. The only outflow is a small stream that flows from the east bank and flows 400 m east in a waterfall into the Islay Sound . There are no islands in Ardnahoe Loch. The lake is located directly on the single-lane road that connects the A846 between Keills and Port Askaig with Bunnahabhain. On the east bank is the Ardnahoe Farm with some agriculturally used bank areas. The remains of a Shieling hut may have been discovered about 300 m northwest of the lake .
