Argaios II
Argaios II was the son of Pausanias . With the help of the Illyrians he drove out Amyntas III. from Macedonia and ruled here for two years. With the support of Thessalian Amyntas III. then recapture part of his land and remove Argaios II from the throne.
359 BC After the death of Perdiccas III. , Argaios claimed the right to the throne and gathered an army. He received support from the Athenians , who sent him the general Mantias with 3,000 hoplites . When trying to conquer Aigai he was repulsed and defeated by Philip II while retreating to Methone .
