Argyrades ( Greek Αργυράδες , also Argirades ( m. Pl. )) Is a village in the south of the Greek island of Corfu . Together with four villages, it forms a municipality ( Δημοτική Κοινότητα Αργυράδων Dimotikí Kinótita Argyrádon ) in the municipality of Korissia of the municipality of Kerkyra . Argyrades is located about 30 kilometers south of the island's capital Kerkyra on the national road 25 from Kerkyra to Lefkimmi .

Structure and population development

Argyrades was established as a rural community in 1912 through the merger with Marathias and Kolokythi (today's village of Agios Nikolaos), in 1929 Kolokythi became an independent community. In 1948 Neochoraki was incorporated into Argyrades and in 1971 Agios Georgios was recognized as a settlement within the rural community. In 1997 Argyrades was incorporated into Korissia , which in 2011 became part of the municipality of Kerkyra .
