Ari-Pekka Liukkonen (born February 9, 1989 in Pieksämäki ) is a Finnish freestyle swimmer . The participant in the 2012 Olympic Games in London won two bronze medals at the European Swimming Championships .

As part of the 2012 Olympic Games, Liukkonen was eighth over 50 m freestyle in the 7th heat and last in 22.57 seconds. At the European Short Course Championships in Chartres in 2012 , the Finnish relay team with the line-up Hanna-Maria Seppälä , Laura Kurki , Andrei Tuomola and Ari-Pekka Liukkonen won in a time of 1: 31.74 minutes. Bronze behind France (with Florent Manaudou and Camille Muffat , 1: 29.60) and Russia (1: 30.41). At the European Swimming Championships in Berlin in 2014 , the time of 21.93 seconds over 50 m freestyle brought Liukkonen bronze behind Manaudou (21.32) and Konrad Czerniak from Poland (21.88).

Liukkonen came out as gay in early 2014 .
