Arimantas Račkauskas

Arimantas Račkauskas (born July 18, 1940 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian politician, former Deputy Minister of Transport and Mayor of Kaunas .

Life

From 1953 to 1957 he studied at Kauno politechnikumas . From 1957 to 1962 he completed his degree as an engineer - mechanic at the Kauno politechnikos institutas (KPI). From 1962 to 1965 he studied in the evening music school in Kaunas . From 1966 to 1969 he completed the KPI- Aspirantur and in 1971 did his doctorate on dynamics of hermetically sealed contact systems. From 1969 to 1974 he was a research assistant at KPI. From 1978 to 1992 he taught and from 1981 to 1992 headed the chair at the Lietuvos vadybos akademija . From 1983 he was a lecturer .

From 1990 to 1992 he was a deputy on the city council and from 1992 to 1995 mayor of the municipality of Kaunas . From 1997 to 2000 he was Deputy Minister of Transport of Lithuania . After that he was vice director of Lietuvos regioninių tyrimų institutas, president of Nacionalinės regionų plėtros organizacijų asociacija , chairwoman of Lietuvos vietos bendruomenių organizacijų sąjunga .

He was a member of Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratieų partija .
