Aristid Lindenmayer

Aristid Lindenmayer (born November 17, 1925 in Budapest , † October 30, 1989 ) was a Hungarian theoretical biologist .

In 1968 he developed a formal language as the basis of an axiomatic theory of biological development . More recently, the Lindenmayer system or L-system called systems have been used in computer graphics for the creation of fractals and in the realistic modeling of plants .
