ArjoHuntleigh is a medical technology manufacturer headquartered in Malmö , Sweden . The product portfolio includes facilities in medical technology and integrated solutions for patient treatment, such as hospital beds and patient lifts , and hygiene, as well as for the prevention of decubitus ulcers and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), disinfection, for example, bedpan , and diagnostics. Like Maquet, it belongs to the Swedish Getinge AB . The company emerged in 2007 from the merger of ARJO and Huntleigh Technology.

Company history

Arjo

ARJO was founded in 1957 by Arne Johansson in the Swedish city of Eslöv . The company name consists of the first two letters of the first and last name of the company founder. Arjo will initially act as a component and machine parts supplier to medical device manufacturers . In 1972 the company developed the first height-adjustable bathtub and launched it on the market. In 1993 the company's share was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange . In 1995 the company merged with the Swedish company Getinge, in whose “Extended Care” division it was continued under its brand name. In 2004 Arjo took over the company BHM Medical and rounded off its range of personal lifters with its ceiling lift. In 2007 Arjo and Huntleigh Nesbit Evans (HNE) merged.

Huntleigh

In 1969 in Luton establishing the Flowtron Aire Ltd , the predecessor company of Huntleigh Healthcare , 1975, the Huntleigh Group Ltd. In 1985 the company went public as Huntleigh Technology PLC on the London Stock Exchange . In 1993 Huntleigh took over the Nesbit Evans Group and traded as HNE Huntleigh Nesbit Evans . In 2007 Arjo and Huntleigh Nesbit Evans (HNE) merge. Luton is now the headquarters of ArjoHuntleigh International Ltd.

ArjoHuntleigh

In 2012, ArjoHuntleigh took over the pressure ulcer positioning systems division of Kinetic Concepts .
